Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using Filament (“the Software”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

License Grant

Upon purchase of a Filament license, we grant the purchasing customer a personal or internal-business, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Filament on up to 2 machines concurrently. The trial version may be used without purchase, subject to the exact trial restrictions described below.

Trial Restrictions

• The Filament trial uses the same app binary as the paid version.
• Export stays disabled in trial mode, including project archive export, Resolume project export, and fixture export.
• You may not use the Software for any unlawful purpose.
• Live output is intentionally disrupted every 20 seconds while the app is in trial mode.

Seat and Installation Policy

Each paid license can remain activated on up to 2 machines at the same time. Filament and Polar use machine-bound activation records to enforce that limit. If you replace or lose a machine, you must remove the license from the old installation, use the customer portal, or contact support to free the seat.

Restrictions

• You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share Filament or your license key outside the purchasing customer account or organization.
• You may not transfer a license to another customer without our written permission.
• You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Software except where applicable law explicitly permits it.
• You may not use the Software for unlawful purposes.

Updates

A paid Filament license currently includes updates for the commercial life of the product. We may change future commercial packaging or discontinue the Software, but doing so does not grant you any right to transfer or resell your license.

No Warranty

The Software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Software will be error-free or meet your requirements. Use it at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Software.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled through Polar.sh, our payment processor. Please contact us within 14 days of purchase if you experience issues and we will work to resolve them before or during any refund review.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
