Terms of Use

Last updated: July 28, 2026

By downloading, installing, or using Filament (“the Software”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

License Grant

Upon purchase of a Filament license, we grant the purchasing customer a personal or internal-business, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Filament on up to 2 machines concurrently. The trial version may be used without purchase, subject to the exact trial restrictions described below.

Trial Restrictions

Seat and Installation Policy

Each paid license can remain activated on up to 2 machines at the same time. Filament and Polar use machine-bound activation records to enforce that limit. If you replace or lose a machine, you must remove the license from the old installation, use the customer portal, or contact support to free the seat.

Restrictions

Updates

A paid Filament license currently includes updates for the commercial life of the product. We may change future commercial packaging or discontinue the Software, but doing so does not grant you any right to transfer or resell your license.

No Warranty

The Software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Software will be error-free or meet your requirements. Use it at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Software.

Purchases and Seller of Record

License purchases are processed by Polar Software Inc. (“Polar”), our merchant of record. Polar handles payment, applicable VAT or sales tax, invoicing, and refunds. The software license itself is granted by Hexagon Intergalactic Ltd under these terms.

Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA and UK Consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. For digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium — such as a Filament license key — this right is lost once delivery has begun, provided you have given your prior express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.

Because your license key is delivered immediately after payment, you will be asked to give exactly this consent and acknowledgment before checkout. If you do not consent, do not complete the purchase — contact us instead and we will arrange delivery after the withdrawal period.

Refunds

Because your license key is delivered immediately at checkout with your express consent, purchases are generally final. Filament offers a free trial with the full feature set so you can evaluate the Software before buying. If something isn't working, contact support@filament.click and we will work to resolve it; we may issue refunds at our discretion, processed through Polar, our merchant of record. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
