Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about Resolume, LED controllers, and the Filament trial.
Why not just stay in Resolume?
If Resolume does everything you need, stay with it. It's very good at mixing video.
Filament is built for mapping physical LED rigs. Load a photo of your rig, trace each LED strip, enter its pixel count, and Filament assigns the DMX channels. You can run the LEDs and video from Filament, or export the map as Resolume Advanced Output XML and keep mixing in Resolume.
Will this work with my controller?
Yes, as long as your controller receives Art-Net or sACN.
Set the same protocol, destination, universe, and channels in Filament and on the controller. WLED is the documented setup. See Output and DMX Routing for the settings and a live output test.
What is actually limited in the trial?
You get the full editor with no signup and no time limit. The trial is for evaluation only, not commercial shows.
Exports are blocked. Live output is disrupted about every 20 seconds. Video output has a watermark. See Licensing and Trial for the details.
